This Content Policy defines what is and is not allowed on WeatherGeekz. It works alongside our Community Guidelines to keep the platform safe and valuable for everyone.

Allowed Content

  • Weather observations, photos, and videos from your own experiences.
  • Educational content about meteorology, forecasting, and storm safety.
  • Questions, discussions, and forecasts shared in good faith.
  • Reports of ongoing weather events with accurate location and time.

Prohibited Content

  • Graphic imagery of injuries, casualties, or disaster victims with identifiable faces.
  • Fabricated or knowingly misleading weather reports that could cause public harm.
  • Content that harasses, threatens, or targets specific individuals.
  • Hate speech, discrimination, or content promoting violence.
  • Spam, unsolicited advertising, or promotional content without authorization.
  • Content that infringes on someone else's intellectual property rights.
  • Real-time tactical positions of active storm chasers that could compromise their safety.

Weather-Specific Content Rules

  • Use hazard tags (tornado, hail, flooding, wind, damage) on posts so users can filter appropriately.
  • Mark graphic or intense chase content so users in Weather-Anxiety Mode can avoid it.
  • Damage photos should include context and location but respect those affected.
  • Do not present community observations as official forecasts or NWS statements.

Content Moderation

We use a combination of automated tools and human review to enforce this policy. We may remove content, issue warnings, or suspend accounts that violate these rules. Repeat or severe violations may result in permanent removal from the community.

Reporting Violations

If you encounter content that violates this policy, please report it. You can flag posts or contact our moderation team. We review reports as quickly as possible and take appropriate action.
